Watching the news this morning, they were interviewing patrons at Dave’s Diner in Erie PA. Many people there were disappointed in the political situation and lack of civility in our country. In reference to the upcoming midterm elections one patron made the comment, “Everything decided in life, is decided by the people who show up” While I understand the concept related to the midterms and getting the vote out, I can’t help but see a much bigger and more all encompassing meaning to the quote.
I can remember a time in my life where I was waiting for someone or something else to make my life better. Honestly, I was waiting for “God” or the universe or, (insert your excuse here) to make my life better. During that time I had the expectation that all good and peaceful things would happen if I could just stay out of the way. FYI, that doesn’t work. Giddy-up
