We never get over great losses!

Last night I shared this quote in my closing comments at our annual holiday healing service for those families we’ve served this year. I love how the quote speaks to great losses being absorbed and carving us into different creatures. It is obvious to me she has experienced great losses, as it comes from a place of familiarity and feels very real to me. Real to me because, I have had the privilege to stand and journey with 1000’s of families who have also experienced great loss. I have seen grief being absorbed and witnessed the waves of grief being carved into the lives and bodies of wounded people.

This holiday season if your willing to tell the story to get them back, to capture their traces of affect in your life, you will find the footfalls in the snow. You will feel the love that lives there, and you will feel how you’re different because of it. And so it is.
