Beliefs

Religious beliefs play a significant role in an individual’s grief journey. For some, answers are found in the griever’s connection with their religion, congregation and God. For others simply being connected to rituals, traditions and customs while grieving provides comfort and understanding.

Frequently grievers experience emotional conflict between religious beliefs and mourning the loss of a loved one, especially if it was a sudden or tragic death. Often they are looking for answers from questions that really don’t have answers.

In my continued journey of helping those who are grieving, I have come across many grievers who struggle with an inner-conflict relating to their religion. As time goes by, these conflicts will resolve themselves with either a new path or restoring their faith.
