Rock on!

Day 72

Some words from Abraham (Esther Hicks).

“Your work is to let your desire flow and then find a way of practicing your desire. Practice it into such pleasantness that it is the easiest momentum that you feel, and then the universe will back you up”.

Abraham also shares another important point: That it is wonderful to attempt to manifest things in your life, but that you must find a way to be happy before the manifesting occurs to get into the vibration of achieving your desire, and then it will come to you more quickly.

Abraham also adds: That the universe does not hear your words, the universe hears your vibration.   Rock on!! (That’s from me)

How can that be bad?

Day 71

To me “being positive” feels impossible at times because being positive is an action, not a feeling. So, if I’m not feeling good it is more of a struggle to be positive in my actions.

For example, Tuesday I wasn’t feeling good and making a choice to be positive seemed impossible. Wednesday I choose to try observing the positive things going on in the world in even the simplest activities by animating and enlivening to the best of my ability. This happens to everybody. We can choose to get stressed and yell and scream at the other guy (who also is stuck!) or we can take the time to chill, do the time and observe what we’re feeling and why. Remember, every day is not promised to be a great day!

Choosing a brighter outlook, one where your thinking expands in a positive direction can be one way to finding a new horizon, a new position in the world. How can that possibly be bad?

Quotation for the Day
What happened yesterday is history. What happens tomorrow is a mystery. What we do today makes a difference – the precious present moment. ~ Nick Saban

Connection

From my book “Living and Dying”

Look! Look! Look deep into nature and you will understand everything”. Albert Einstein

The connection exists, whether we are tuned in to it or not, between each and everything that has or ever will exist. Our willingness to feel connected is all that is required.

The connection I feel with my son, Michael, is one example that comes to mind as to how powerful our connection is. Michael lives in Montana and as a smoke jumper, he is part of an elite group of highly trained professionals that jump from airplanes into remote areas of our country to extinguish wild fires. As a mom and a dad we had many opportunities to think of him as we imagined all sorts of dangerous and exciting adventures. Not all wonderful thoughts as friends would call us after hearing of the devastating news of an entire fire crew dying as they fought wildfires out west.

As I sit here right now in the safety and warmth of my home in upstate New York, I can connect my mind and heart with his whole being, simply by bringing the complete idea of him into my thoughts and consciousness. Simply by closing my eyes and letting all other thoughts and distractions go, I can connect with the idea that represents Michael in my mind. Inside my mind, this idea of Michael really “is” Michael. I can see him and sense his presence in my imagination. It is my idea of him that makes him real, not his physical presence. And I can do that whether he is physically here or not, and whenever I want. In that place, we are totally connected in my mind and heart just as though—he is sitting right here with me now. The connection may not be able to put us together physically, but we are never separated, the connection exists.

If you were to put this book down right now and think of someone you care deeply for, they too can come fully into your awareness.
Close your eyes.
Take a moment to visualize that person. Feel and sense their presence.
Although they may be a great distance from you, you have the ability to connect with them.

Day 69

Yesterdays post was about animating.

animate
vb (tr)
1. to give life to or cause to come alive
2. to make lively; enliven
3. to encourage or inspire
4. to impart motion to; move to action or work
adj
5. being alive or having life

Which one are you? Today I animate!!

How’d you do? I didn’t do all that great.  I didn’t make lively or enliven, I did’nt encourage or inspire all that well and I didn’t move to action well either.  I’m sharing this with you because some days I dont do as well for a lot of reasons. Yesterday I didn’t have much energy and not that much to do as far as work.  In fact I didn’t even feel much like animating.  Now I have been perseverating about this for the past few hours as I feel disappointed in myself.  How is that going to help?? that was yesterday (the past) and this is now.  Here I go playing the same recording of looking back and judging my performance.  Stop It!!

The adventure begins again!

Animation

It crossed my mind today that if you receive my blog by email and you dont click on the title of my post you dont receive the image attached.  Here is an image of the email version yesterday.

If you click on the title (Bag it, in this ilustration) it takes you to the actual post on my site with image.  If you looked at my title yesterday of “Bag it” it could mean something totally different than the intended meaning.  Often I have a very unique and creative meaning to my titles and the images have a very specific value.  I’d hate for you to miss it!!

Day 68

Today I have thoughts about animation. In my meditation this morning I remembered the experience of euthanizing our dog Lucy.  It then progressed to my parents deaths and all those I am privelaged to be apart of every day in my work. There is an energy, a power that emanates from each one of us.  It is a power that animates our world.  When we see a body that has died we see an inanimate object.  In Lucy’s case, I first had her sedated so she would lie down, then as I stood there petting her and comforting her with my hands supporting her head, I could feel the life force leave her body.  Her physical reality changed in an instant from soft, to hard and I could feel her body move for a lifted position to a deflated one.  That energy can be seen and felt especially when we we compare or experience it next to a lifeless inaminate body.

What is it that animates us? If there truly is an energy that enlivens and animates us (which I believe there is) , what are we doing with it? Are we going out into the day appreciating the power we have been given? Are we animating?

inanimate

adj.
1. not animate; lifeless.
2. spiritless; sluggish; dull.
3. (of a linguistic item) used with reference to objects, concepts, and beings regarded as lacking perception and volition (opposed to animate).

Day 67

For the past few days I have made the distinct effort to focus on the wonder and adventure surrounding my days activities.  Yesterday was fabulous, I had many exciting events and experiences added to my schedule. Conversations with friends, unexpected solutions to problems and work issues and a sense of fun and accomplishment.  It concluded last night at Conesus lake as our creek breeched its banks and flooded our community.  I spent a few hours battling water flow, sandbagging and mopping while firefighters, town employees and neighbors all worked together to support each other.  While it caused a disturbance and had a negative affect on some our properties, we all accepted what was happening and made the best of it together.  I was amazed how nature in the blink of an eye can cause dramatic change.  To me the whole experience was very interesting, and challenging.  While I had a hard time getting to sleep last night, I must say a that there was a sense of excitement and adventure in the air.

Today I continue the adventure!!

Route 66

Day 66

Remember the TV show Route 66? It was about two guys travel and adventures in his corvette across Route 66. As I remember it, every episode they would get into some adventure that would relate to a place or time on the road.

“Web site description” – Tod Stiles (George Maharis)  hits the title trans-America highway in his Corvette in search of adventure with friend Buz Murdock (MartinMilner), a survivor of New York’s mean streets. The two work odd jobs as they meet and interact with colorful characters and find themselves plunged into one situation after another, some of them romantic, some of them very dangerous.

Much like the show Route 66, we also travel along a highway daily, being pulled and pushed into different situations and interactions with others. In the show they were looking for adventure and welcomed new situations and interactions.  Often in our travels in life we dont feel we have the luxury of experiencing the excitement of new adventures along our path.  We’re so busy and caught up in our routine or expectations for ourselves we miss most of what is going on around us.

Saturday I wrote about the idea of needing a good map for finding our way to a place of joy and wonderment.  Perhaps the goal shouldn’t be getting down the road the fastest or on the most direct route?  Perhaps it’s knowing why we’re on the highway.  Today I’m going to travel the road ahead of me.  I’m going to accomplish the tasks needed, or not (that’s the easy part), but more importantly I’m going to look around and enjoy the detours and welcome new adventures along my path.  Life’s supposed to be fun.  Don’ miss it!
