Healing the World

Yesterday I spoke of the scattered and stirred up world and my responsibility of taking action towards healing, believing that each of us has a unique part to play in the healing of the world. After I finished writing it, I got this from the Daily OM in my email.  I thought it applied to yesterdays message, I hope you like it.

Life is sculpted on a moment-to-moment basis. Every one of the thoughts we think, the words we speak, and the actions we take contributes to the complex quality and character of the universe’s unfolding. It simply is not possible to be alive without making an impact on the world that surrounds us. Every action taken affects the whole as greatly as every action not taken. And when it comes to making the world a better place, what we choose not to do can be just as important as what we choose to do.

For example, when we neglect to recycle, speak up, vote, or help somebody in immediate need, we are denying ourselves the opportunity to be an agent for positive change. Instead, we are enabling a particular course to continue unchallenged, picking up speed even as it goes along. By holding the belief that our actions don’t make much of a difference, we may find that we often tend to forego opportunities for involvement. Alternatively, if we see ourselves as important participants in an ever-evolving world, we may feel more inspired to contribute our unique perspective and gifts to a situation.

It is wise to be somewhat selective about how and where we are using our energy in order to keep ourselves from becoming scattered. Not every cause or action is appropriate for every person. When a situation catches our attention, however, and speaks to our heart, it is important that we honor our impulse to help and take the action that feels right for us. It may be offering a kind word to a friend, giving resources to people in need, or just taking responsibility for our own behavior. By doing what we can, when we can, we add positive energy to our world. And sometimes, it may be our one contribution that makes all the difference.

Pain

During the past few days and most recently today, I’ve heard from friends regarding loss and struggle in their lives. These life altering situations create tremendous stress, and pain in our lives. With my prayers and the hope and belief in healing and love, I share these thoughts.

I recently read a great article on the idea of pain, be it physical or emotional it resonates in a very big way.  Here’s a taste!

Pain comes and it goes. It is just one component to the grand cycle of life. And when experienced as such, pain can serve as an important teacher. It is when we get stuck in our pain that it becomes detrimental to our well-being and development. If you notice that you feel closed-off, resentful, heavy-hearted, or that you try very hard to avoid being hurt again, there may be a part of you that is still stuck in pain.

We can get stuck in our pain for many reasons. As children, it was natural for us to cry, throw a tantrum, and let the experience move through us. By fully feeling our pain in this way, our emotions would wash us clean, leaving us open and available to new experiences. With age, though, we might have determined that expressing emotion was no longer appropriate, and so we developed a variety of coping strategies to deal with our discomfort. We may have learned to stuff our feelings down or to run away from them. Perhaps we began thinking that staying closed and unwilling to try new things would keep us safe from heartbreak, safe from rejection, and safe from failure. We may have even gotten so used to being in pain that the thought of being without it scares us. But, if we continue to hold onto it longer than necessary, we are expending a lot of energy that could instead be channeled into making our life experiences more positive.

If you notice that you are continually connecting with the same familiar patterns of pain, consider embracing your feelings and letting go of your hurt. Whether your pain is from childhood or from an experience last week, see if you can give it room to move. When it does, you will reconnect with a wonderful source of your own vital energy.

Remember, Pain comes and it goes. It is just one component to the grand cycle of life. And when experienced as such, pain can serve as an important teacher.

Living life fully

What is it that I’m not living out fully in my life.

The one thing that propels itself to the top of the list of things I’m not living out fully in my life, is my passion for connecting with like minded individuals to share personal insights, thoughts, dreams and desires, without judgement and from a place of love. While I have a web site where I share a daily blog, and I have a book I’ve written, and I have a business I have built and created, I still would like to do more.  I still feel I have a lot more to offer!!

While writing is very powerful and therapeutic, the personal connections we share are so much more powerful. Co-Creating in community where we share our thoughts, feelings and desires with the goal of supporting and holding a safe space for each other has such incredible power and opportunity for growth. Yet, it carries with it a fear of failure, disagreement and disappointment, and it this very fear that keeps me from moving this thought, this dream forward. How to do this, how to move forward still concerns me. How to connect with people and co-create an exciting growing and learning time together requires some faith and a desire to jump into the unknown.

Currently I am planning two workshop opportunities for addressing change and supporting transformational growth. The first will be offered by me http://www.mkanthony.com through our funeral chapel with a time (probably September) and site to be determined and the second will be a fall event with two close friends and like minded people, Sacha Sully from Australia https://m.facebook.com/SachaSullyLifeCoach/ and Camille Conte from Alaska and NJ. https://www.facebook.com/This-Awakening-Spirit-645405635549117/ While these new ventures will create some fear and trepidation, it is time to shake, rattle and roll (in no particular order).

Please look forward to your personal invitation to these events and let me know if there are any thoughts you have regarding topics you feel would help you, your friends, family and your community.

co-creating

Co-creating day three.  Co-creating is like listening to the radio, you realize that you are listening to a channel, your channel, yet continue to recognize that there are many other channels playing out there.  While you do not have to tune in to the other channels you have the option to play with them whenever you’re moved to.

The key to co-creating is recognizing and being “willing” to hear these other channels.  They are always playing (like your channel), and they offer different energy pathways that move and grove to different beats that may challenge you.  While it seems easier to keep it on your one channel, the universe is challenging you, reaching out and calling you to hear what is being played.  No intention (no pressure) to make anything happen or expect anything, just play!!!

Why is it so scary?

Today I’m feeling scared, and I’m not sure what’s causing it. Is it because I’m blogging and putting my shit out there in the universe for all to see?  Am I scared because I may be ridiculed, laughed at, not liked, perceived a failure?  Or, am I scared because the energy in our world is freaking scary? All the presidents men, the media and the entertainers and the politicians are scary.  People full of hate are scary! Will all of this insanity pull me down in its hole?  Is that why I’m scared?

Yup!

Am I’m scared about blogging? I guess I’m in some pretty good company then. Walt Disney (first animation company went bankrupt, was told he wasn’t creative enough), Albert Einstein (didn’t speak till four and read until seven – parents and teachers thought he was mentally handicapped), Vincent Van Gogh (he only sold one painting in his lifetime), Michael Jordan (cut from his high school basketball team) the list goes on. There is no success without failure. Decide what is important to you and take huge steps (leaps) everyday even though it doesn’t seem like it’s working. Success doesn’t happen without failures. It’s reality, and it takes practice to get good at.

Am I scared about the negative energy in the world? I know I’m not alone here.  All I can do is take it moment by moment and day by day.  I will try to limit my news time and place more time on my health and my family.  I will try and hold all others opinions as just that, opinions.  There is no power in thought and opinions, unless we give them power.  Wayne Dyer used to always say,  “Change the way you look at the world, and the world you look at changes”.  Know you are not alone! For I am with you, and it might get scary!

Energetic Joy

Day 18

Children provide us a view of un-restricted love and joy.  Young children don’t learn sadness and fear early on, they are left alone to shine for years.  They see everything for the first time, and are enthralled by the most simplest of things. They don’t get fed the daily news or our negative thoughts and opinions.  It is not hard to see in them this beautiful light shining and we don’t want to extinguish it.  This morning, I feel I need to move out in that light and wanted to share with you this abreviated  post I wrote 20 days ago.

Today, was filled with lots of energy and joy.  Is it because I got a lot done that I had been perseverating over? Or, because I didn’t want to be depressed and scared any more.  Some days I just get up and deal with it because I don’t want to accept feeling depressed and scared all day.  Other days, I like staying home and wallowing in it.  Today, I decided to take the leap, to take the day and achieve some greatness, and boy did it feel that way.  I was up before 6am and didn’t hit the pillow until 11pm, unheard of these past few months.

Today the blessings to me were energy and joy, and I’m just going to accept that and be grateful.

I’d like to make that my new normal!  How you doing with that?

Big stuff!

I’m traveling today and decided to pull out a post I wrote a few days before I went live with my blog.  I thought we could all use a little pick me up from the last three days.

I woke up at 3am last night thinking of the song “Mr. Big Shot, Who do you think you are”, by Jean Knight. Although I thought it was Mr big shot, it is actually Mr. Big Stuff!! Anyway, Mr Big Stuff still works because being a spiritual being capable and deserving of all things is pretty big stuff.

As I reflect on my life’s journey, I was always ready to step up and to do the big thing, win the big game or make the big move (take the chance). While everyone doesn’t share my vision, belief and enthusiasm for doing the big stuff, it makes me wonder.
Isn’t it possible, to be capable of all things and have all of life’s trophy’s, while maintaining peace, joy and love? Isn’t that possible? I think it is. Is fear of failure, ridicule and change, holding us back from success? Are we just to damn lazy, or do we feel unworthy and undeserving (the list goes on).

For the past few months, I have been waiting for the magic to just appear, after all I am a spiritual being and deserving of all things. I’ve been waiting for the event or the thought that would propel me once again into the magic energy field, the universal arena.

I finally accepted that I haven’t been ready and probably a little scared to step out into that arena. All the things I thought I believed, preach and practice had been on hold as if in a state of suspended animation. Not really sure why, but “enter blogging”.  I know I don’t know everything, but when I close my eyes, trust and listen all things are possible.

Here I am Lord. Welcome to my blog!
